In some cases with a Softphone paging setup, only page and message commands are accepted by the system. If a control change is needed, it is possible to work around this limitation using logic controls from a "phantom" extra zone on the PA Router.

For example, here is a site where a key command needs to be sent to mute the system amplifiers. To accomplish this, an extra "Mute Zone" is added to the PA Router and the Zone Active pin is exposed. This is connected to the Toggle pin on a Flip-Flop, while the State output is connected to the Mute All pin on a CX-Qn amplifier. The site is now able to use the same dial code to both Mute and un-Mute the system amplifier.
