How To | Removing the Q-SYS configuration from NS Series Gen 2 switches

Learn how to properly remove the Q-SYS configuration from NS Series Gen 2 switches.

Procedure


Use the following steps for removing the Q-SYS configuration from NS Series Gen 2 switches:

Warning

Removing the Q-SYS configuration removes all presets and optimizations created by Q-SYS for Q-LAN operation. Configuration outside of the Q-SYS installed settings will not be supported by Q-SYS Technical Support.

 

Part 1: Connection

  1. Connect to the device using the console port using either:
    1. standard console cable
    2. USB-C console connection\
  2. Open PuTTY
  3. Select Serial
  4. Set the baud rate to 115200
  5. Press Enter to open the console session
 
 

Part 2: Reset/Remove Config

Once you're at the command-line interface (CLI), enter the following commands to reset the device to factory settings:

>enable

#erase factory-defaults   

Are you sure you want to delete the factory-default file? (y/n) y

#erase startup-config

Are you sure you want to clear the configuration? (y/n) y

#reload

The system has unsaved changes.

Would you like to save them now? (y/n) n

Are you sure you would like to reset the system? (y/n) y
