“Fault - Microphone missing”.
Definition
If you have a PS-1600G or PS-1650G that reports a "Fault - Microphone missing" error in Q-SYS - even though the gooseneck mic is attached - it may be an issue with how the wires are seated in the connector that connects the mic to the circuit.
Solution | Workaround
- Remove the two side pieces of the page station (3 screws on each side).
- Remove the 2 screws on the back to separate the backplate.
- Check to see if the pins in the connector from the mic to the board are seated in the white plastic connector properly.
Do they appear to be connected properly?
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting to “wipe” the contacts.
- Then check to see if the error in Q-SYS goes away.
- Take off the connector.
- Push the wires into the connector.
- Re-seat the connector.
- Then check to see if the error in Q-SYS goes away.
