How To | Sum the stereo Booth output of a DJ mixer to a single CP12 loudspeaker
Learn how to combine several sources of sound into one amplified output, allowing you to deliver a fuller, more powerful audio experience.
Procedure
- Plug the LEFT Booth output of the DJ mixer into the CP12 input A.
- Plug the RIGHT Booth output of the DJ mixer into the CP12 input B.
Note
Make sure the MIC BOOST for the CP12 input B is disabled or turned off.
The CP12 sums the two A and B inputs to a mono signal as it hits the amp module. This doubles the input voltage, resulting in a +6dB bump in level at the amp module.
To compensate for that increase in level, you can decrease the gain for each input by -3dB on both the A and B inputs. To do this, rotate the gain knob counter-clockwise three tick marks for each input on the CP12.
