How To | Set the PTPv2 Grandmaster status of an AES67 device
Learn how to configure the Grandmaster settings of an AES67 device to use PTPv2.
Procedure
IEEE1588-2008 (PTPv2) typically uses a single device on the network to act as the clock master for all devices on the network. A PTPv2 priority setting can allow the user to manipulate the PTPv2 Grandmaster negotiation process that happens automatically between all PTPv2 aware devices. In Q-SYS v5.3 or higher, you can set the PTPv2 Priority. Other products may or may not offer the ability to manually configure the PTPv2 Priority.
To set the PTPv2 Priority:
- Click the File menu in Q-SYS Designer.

- Choose Design Properties.
- In the Design Properties window, adjust the PTP Priority 1 and PTP Priority 2 settings as needed for your network.
Note
PTP Priority settings may vary based on your network and device configurations.
