Tip | Software-based Dante Name Limitations
Advice
Commonly, Dante devices may only be assigned names with a maximum of 31 characters. Software-based Dante on Q-SYS Cores however can be named with more than 31 characters. This can cause an issue in the Dante status component which may show “Initializing” and never update to “OK”. It may also prevent the Core from showing in Dante Controller. Best practice is to always use a name less than 31 characters to prevent issues.
This does not affect the CDN64 card as the limitation is built into the Dante hardware.
